It was a party for her son’s 40th birthday that inspired Sandra Slater to expand her repertoire of crafts. Her daughter-in-law decorated her family’s house both inside and out with tiny sparkling lights encased in wine bottles. “I saw it and thought, ‘What a clever idea,’” said the Rossmoor resident. Slater now retrieves cast off wine and liquor bottles for a better purpose.
