The Pumpkin Man Garden Club member known for growing giants Gene Widdel is known fondly as “The Pumpkin Man” by his fellow Rossmoor Garden Club members. It’s been a tradition for Widdel to grow some mighty big pumpkins at his lot at the Rossmoor Gardens. When October and Halloween roll around, those treasures typically have been doled out dutifully to his four grandchildren.
